Honduran president returns to Honduras on May 28

Followers of Honduras' ousted ex-president Manuel Zelaya say he will return to the country May 28.

Opposition leader Juan Barahona says Zelaya will return with former members of his government. Zelaya has been living in the Dominican Republic since early 2010.

Barahona told a local radio station Thursday that Venezuela's foreign minister will also accompany Zelaya.

Zelaya had refused to return until corruption charges against him were dropped — something that happened last month.

Honduran soldiers hustled him out of the country after he ignored court orders to drop plans for a referendum some feared was aimed at allowing him to run for re-election.

(This version CORRECTS that Zelaya will return May 28, not June 28.)
