PARIS – An electrical supply problem in the train tunnel beneath the English Channel has blocked Eurostar traffic between Britain and the European continent.

Romain Dufour of Eurotunnel, which operates the tunnel, said technicians are examining what caused the electrical outage Tuesday and working to fix the issue.

No trains are stuck under water, but the blockage has left passengers in London and Paris stuck while they wait for it to be resolved. Eurotunnel and Eurostar could not estimate how long it would take to fix the issue.

Technical problems and strikes occasionally cause delays or stoppages on Eurostar trains.
