BERLIN (AP) — A court session in John Demjanjuk's trial in Germany has been called off for a day after prison doctors decided it would be too dangerous to the 90-year-old's health to transport him to the courtroom in hot weather.

The physicians told the court Wednesday that Demjanjuk had a high pulse rate and advised against risking moving him in temperatures of 90 F (32 C).

The former Ohio autoworker is being tried on 28,060 counts of accessory to murder over allegations he was a guard at the Nazis' Sobibor death camp. He says he is a victim of mistaken identity and never served as a guard at any camp.

Demjanjuk suffers from a variety of medical problems and it was at least the ninth session to be canceled for health reasons since the trial began Nov. 30.
