BOURNE, Mass. – Massachusetts state police say two people, including a Bourne police officer, have been shot.
The officer was shot at about 2:15 a.m. Thursday at a condominium complex. A medical helicopter took off from the area headed for a Boston hospital.
Police say one person is in custody.
No names have been released and the conditions of the people shot have not been disclosed.
State police say violence was committed against two people inside a home in the western part of Cape Cod.
The state police bomb squad also responded to the scene to examine what are suspected of being hoax devices found nearby, allegedly by the shooting suspect.
Area residents are being asked to stay in their homes.
