Game, set, and iMatch?

Now you can be a part of the last grand slam tennis event this year, the U.S. Open -- thanks to your smartphone.

All the action of the great tennis tournament is right at your fingertips with the free U.S. Open Tennis app that's specially made for Android and iPhone smartphones. Get live point-by-point scoring, stats, and results, and even watch live streaming video of all the big matches.

The updated news feed keeps you in the know on everything going on with the players and within the tennis scene. You'll feel as though you're courtside as you listen in on every match and post-match interviews by clicking on the USOpen.org Radio icon.

Use the social media tab to connect with other fans and see what the players are tweeting about. And check into the area using foursquare, of course.

More On This...

“We want to enhance the U.S. Open fans’ experience -- whether they’re attending the event, sitting in the office or on vacation at the beach. We tailor the digital experience so they can get what they want when they want it and how they want it,” said Phil Green, senior director of advanced media for the USTA.

“Our fans are interacting with the tournament in multiple ways. Whether it’s watching live video, using our mobile options or engaging through social media, the U.S. Open is easier than ever to enjoy.”

If you're lucky enough to attend the Open, let the augmented-reality app guide you through the venue; the virtual map will steer you to your seats, culinary offerings from around the world, U.S. Open merchandise and other sports gear, and transportation to and from the event.

Or click on “Around Me” to see just that — what’s located around the venue. The app details hotels, hospitals, restaurants, banks ... and more practical stuff, such as the nearest restroom or when the next subway is set to arrive.
