The New Jersey Devils acquired defenseman Maxim Noreau from the Minnesota Wild on Thursday in exchange for forward David McIntyre.

Noreau is an undrafted free agent who has appeared in six NHL games for the Wild over the past two seasons. He scored 10 goals and finished with 54 points in 76 games for Minnesota's AHL affiliate in Houston, adding 2 goals and 12 points in 24 playoff games during the Aeros' run to the Calder Cup Finals.

McIntyre was a fifth-round selection by Dallas in the 2006 Entry Draft. He spent his collegiate years at Colgate, registering 21 goals and 43 points his junior season, and went on to put up 15 goals and 35 points in 90 games over two seasons with the Devils' AHL affiliates in Lowell and then Albany.
