Chile's Felipe Aguilar holed six birdies and then an eagle on the 18th to shoot a 28 on the back-nine and capture the title at The Championship at Laguna National on Sunday.

Aguilar's final round 10-under 62 gave him an overall 22-under 266, a stroke ahead of Denmark's Anders Hansen and American David Lipsky in joint second.

Hansen, the co-overnight leader, had a three-shot lead after a birdie at the 12th hole, but could not match Aguilar's impressive finish. He bogeyed the 16th hole, then failed to make birdie on the 18th to force a playoff.

Aguilar won for just the second time on the European Tour, his previous title coming six years ago in Indonesia.
