The Milwaukee Brewers announced starting pitcher Chris Narveson will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery to repair a partial tear to his left rotator cuff.

Narveson lasted just four innings and allowed five earned runs in his second outing of the season -- an April 15 loss to the Braves -- and was placed on the 15-day disabled list last Friday in the midst of undergoing tests on his shoulder.

According to the Brewers' website, Narveson will need six-to-nine months worth of rehabilitation.

Narveson, who had Tommy John surgery in 2002, tore the labrum in his left shoulder three years later and had surgery on his left hip last offseason, has won 26 games for the Brewers the last four seasons and owns a 4.67 earned run average for his career.
