Toronto, Canada – Berto, who represented Haiti in the 2004 Olympics, said in a statement on Monday he lost several relatives in the earthquake and his sister and niece were left homeless.
"As a result of this disaster I am mentally and physically exhausted and therefore I have no choice but to withdraw from my bout on January 30," said WBC champion Berto.
