World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka and Maria round winners on Tuesday while Carolina Wozniacki was ousted at the $5.535 million BNP Paribas Open.

The Australian Open champion Azarenka improved to a perfect 20-0 this year with a 6-3, 6-1 pasting of 14th-seeded German Julia Goerges in 69 minutes at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

The 22-year-old Belarusian, seeking her fourth title of 2012, will face rising Pole Agnieszka Radwanska in the quarterfinals.

Second seed Sharapova needed just 72 minutes to defeat Italy's Roberta Vinci 6-2. 6-1. The Russian can be wild at times, but on Tuesday she suffered just one double fault as she took down the 21st seed.

Sharapova, a former world No. 1 who titled here in 2006, will take on Maria Kirilenko in the quarters after the 20th-seeded Russian outlasted her 30th- seeded compatriot Nadia Petrova 6-1, 5-7, 6-2.

The fourth-seeded Dane Wozniacki, who titled here last year and was the runner-up in 2010, dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to Ana Ivanovic, the tournament's 15th seed.

Serbia's Ivanovic smacked three aces and converted on 5-of-9 break chances to move on to the quarterfinals.

The surging world No. 5 Radwanska continued her recent run of fine form by getting past American wild card Jamie Hampton 6-3, 4-6, 3-0, as Hampton retired in the third set here on Day 7. Radwanska was a big winner in Dubai last month.

In other fourth-round action, France's seventh seed Marion Bartoli rolled to a 6-1, 6-4 victory over 23rd-seeded Czech Lucie Safarova, eighth-seeded Li Na of China routed Czech's Klara Zakopalova 6-1, 60, and 18th-seeded German Angelique Kerber bested promising young American Christina McHale, the 32nd seed, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4).

The 2012 Indian Wells titlist will collect $1 million.
