Donald Trump has gone after Ben Carson, Marco Rubio, Carly Fiorina and numerous others throughout his boisterous 2016 campaign. Is Ted Cruz next?

In an interview with CNBC's "Squawk Box" Monday, Trump said that he is ready to "go to war" with the Texas senator if he rises any higher in polls, something he has avoided thus far.

"Well, he's been very nice and supportive of everything I've said — more than anybody else," Trump told host Joe Kernan. "We'll see what happens. If he catches on, I guess we'll have to go to war."

"But so far we haven't," Trump added. "We've been very supportive. We have many of the same ideas."

Trump has thus far avoided going after the Texas senator, with the two even sharing a stage at a rally against the Iran deal back in September.
