Pop singer Christina Aguilera went back to Toyko, Japan -- where she lived for a few years as a child -- for the premiere of her new movie “Burlesque.”

The movie’s Japanese premiere debuts on Dec. 18th, which happens to be Aguilera’s birthday.

“I am so thrilled to be here in my favorite city,” said Aguilera in a press conference upon arrival in Toyko. “It’s always an amazing thing to come back here.”

Aguilera told the spectators how she learned so much from her co-star Cher, both “personally and professionally.”

“She doesn’t do or say anything she doesn’t mean,” said Aguilera. “So when Cher gives you a compliment you feel that much better about it, because she really means it.”
