Actor Christian Bale refers to former Vice President Dick Cheney as 'Satan' after winning the Golden Globe for his portrayal of the lawmaker in the movie 'Vice.'
Christian Bale felt less than handsome when he transformed himself into former Vice President Dick Cheney for Adam McKay's "Vice."

Bale, 45, won the Best Actor Golden Globe and is up for an Oscar for his role as the ex-veep, for which he packed on 60 pounds.
Over the weekend, the Associated Press asked British actor how he felt in Cheney's rather rotund body.

"Like a bullfrog," Bale quipped. "Or sometimes he's been described as a walrus."
He added, "I built up my neck so I felt like I could take anything ... I just felt like a bulldozer all day long."
Bale, who previously dropped to 120 pounds for "The Machinist" in 2004 and put on 30 pounds of muscle for "Batman Begins" a year later, said playing Cheney was "lovely ... it seemed almost impossible."

In December, Bale told Variety of his weight gain for the part, “You’re absolutely just losing all discipline and gorging like crazy. I need to stop it, it’s not healthy for your body. I’m in my mid-40s now, it’s going to start catching up with me if I don’t start being a little bit aware of my mortality."

“I have almost always enjoyed transformation – mental and physical, sometimes it can be a great help to look in the mirror and not see yourself, in terms of being able to remove yourself from any kind of a character," he added. "I’m glad I did it, but I think it should be in the past now."
