English actor and soccer player Vinnie Jones has revealed that he has had several lumps removed after being diagnosed with skin cancer.

Earlier this year the 48-year-old noticed a tiny blemish below his eye. A visit to the doctor confirmed that it wasn’t a wart but actually melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer that kills over 2000 people in the U.K a year.

“When the doctor said I had skin cancer, the first thing I thought was ‘how long have I got,” he told The Sun newspaper. “It’s weighing very heavily on me all the time.”

He had it removed and since then has had two further operations after doctors discovered more cancer in the same area and a tumor on the back of his head.

Jones revealed that his wife, Tanya is also battling skin cancer, the result of drugs she has been taking since undergoing a heart transplant 26 years ago.

The British tough guy who has appeared in ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,’ and ‘X-Men: The Last Stand,’ and was the captain of the Welsh Football Team is the second celeb to come forward about skin cancer.

Earlier Hugh Jackman revealed that he had been treated for skin cancer posting a photo on his Instagram account of his bandaged nose following the removal of a basal cell carcinoma.
