As much as I'm a big fan of gorgeous packaging and luxury boutiques, there's nothing more rewarding than scoring a beauty find for mere pennies on the dollar. (Well, maybe not nothing, but you know what I mean!)
In the spirit of giving and sharing, I’m revealing my favorite affordable drugstore finds, many of which I not only use on my celebrity clientele, but also include as major must-haves in my own makeup bag. And yes, as much as it seems impossible to pair the words boutique, beauty, and drugstore all in one sentence, I’ve found that many convenience shops now offer curated selections of some of the top names in beauty with sensational displays of timeless old faithfuls.
Whether filling a stocking or simply adding to your personal collection, you can find a treasure trove of beauty steals that will certainly help you dazzle this holiday season. Here are my picks:
Every season black lipstick makes its return to the inner circles of our beauty radar. Every time this happens we’re a little older, a little wiser, and yet a little more tempted to revert back to our inner angsty teen ways.

Sure, the trend isn’t without its obstacles: People might think you’re taking style tips from Edward Cullen, or interpret your shade of deep red as an affection for "50 Shades of Grey." But it’s not just the living dead who can pull of a ghostly pallor and a deep, dark lip.
There’s something that screams “self-control” about a perfect black lip. You don’t want to mess up your maquillage by indulging in drinks that don’t warrant a straw. However, sporting a deep, dark lip like a star is possible with the right products.
And we can’t think of a better time to experiment with unconventional lip colors than a snow day, particularly when you might still have some Halloween leftovers that certainly shouldn’t go to waste. See below for the best, almost all-black lip colors around right now, interspersed with a little inspiration:
As fashion editors, when it comes to trends, we’re not players, we just crush a lot-and the style striking our fancy as of late is the midi skirt.

It’s practically common knowledge that crop top phenomenon has given way to the shin-showcasing skirt’s revival, which had been a slump of sorts since the invention of the mini-skirt in the ’60s.
While Fashion Week was testament enough, we didn’t think it was a silhouette that men would be particularly keen to. However, today we learned that that’s not the case at all. In fact, one gentleman thinks they’re smoking.
Harper’s BAZAAR tapped their go-to guy, Patrick Varone, to reveal what guys really think of the midi skirt:
“If you’re looking to class it up a smidge this longer skirt is probably the style to do that,” says Varone. “It really says, ‘I passed the bar, not danced on one. [...] The midi skirt is actually pretty hot. You could potentially wear this to work and then out to happy hour.”
BAZAAR’s correspondent makes a fine point, and with that we decided to scour the web and find 15 chic takes, from swinging to wiggle-worthy, on the skirt du jour:
Does your hair appear full and lush in the morning only for it to deflate by night? Chances are you may have a fine mane, but there’s nothing fine about it.

“First, it is important to note that fine and thin hair are two different things,” explains Fernando Salas, creator of White Sands Hair Care. “If your hair is fine, it just means your strands are on the thinner side. You can have fine hair, but have lots of it.
“Thinning hair, on the other hand, is classified by an increase in shedding or noticing a decrease in density,” he adds.
No matter which type you were born with, suffering from limp, lifeless tresses can easily out beat your body-boosting efforts. And all that heat from irons and dryers is only making your delicate hair break, causing more harm than good.
Fortunately, you’re not doomed to possess an eternal bad hair day. According to several celebrity stylists, fine hair is actually common among many Hollywood starlets and styling it doesn’t have to be a chore. Find out how to make your fine hair speak volumes with these expert tips below:
By now, you're aware of JLaw's new pixie cut, but what you might not know is why she opted for the shorter 'do.
As it turns out, the director of her upcoming film, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," is partially to blame.

"She used to give me a hard time about the hair because I was always saying, 'Dye your hair, dye your hair. We need your hair dyed, no wigs!'" said director Francis Lawrence. "And then of course, dying her hair fried her hair, so she had to cut her hair.
"At first I didn't realize it was messed up," Francis added. "I thought she was cutting it just to wear wigs to make me mad, but it wasn't the case. We actually fried her hair, which is sad. I feel bad."
But when life gives Jennifer Lawrence lemons, she apparently jumps at the chance to make lemonade. "My hair couldn't get any uglier," recounted the actress at a recent question and answer session for Yahoo. "I don't know, I cut it earlier, and it was just kind of like [shoulder-length] and it grew to that awkward, gross length. I just kept putting it back in a bun, and I said, 'Well I don't want to do this,' so I just cut it off."
