Just in time for the New Year, Vanity Fair has released their 2014 International Best-Dressed List, wherein voters selected a host of “supremely stylish honorees” who've left their mark on 2014. And while the latest winners were announced earlier this year, these stylish stars are certain to stir more headlines in 2015 — at least in the wardrobe department.
“Since its inception in 1940, the International Best-Dressed List — revealed in Vanity Fair for the last decade — has lauded the most polished, eclectic and stylish of dressers,” says the publication.
While many of the honorees were obvious, such as the leggy Victoria’s Secret model and the Duchess of Cambridge, others furrowed our brows, like the musician who can’t leave the house without his Arby’s-esque hat.

PEOPLE Magazine honored the top stars of 2014 on Thursday night in Beverly Hills, and a slew of celebs rocked the red carpet wearing head-turning fashions. From leather and lace to low-cut looks, just about everyone in attendance arrived in a stunningly sexy ensemble.
The leading ladies who paved the way? For starters, that credit goes to “Booty” singer Jennifer Lopez. At the ceremony, the 45-year-old mother of two kept the focus on her cleavage with a nude, low-cut ensemble, enhancing her enviable figure. And blonde bombshell Kate Upton, who picked up a statuette for “Sexiest Woman,” opted for some skin-tight leather that hugged her famous curves.

Kate Middleton, along with husband Prince William, embarked on a three-day New York City tour earlier this month, and as expected, the royal made her mark at a variety of charity events.
The 32-year-old, who is five months pregnant with her second child, stirred headlines with her many stylish maternity ensembles, including a recycled midnight-blue Jenny Packham gown which she previously wore back in February of this year.

Every celeb has their own signature look, but when it comes to one particular star, it’s all about going retro, all day, nearly every-day.

In the case of actress Reese Witherspoon, it’s all about effortlessly chic side-swept hair. And according to celebrity stylists, this simple hairstyle is always on-trend because it easily transforms bland strands into touchable tresses.
“Its popularity stems from the recent vintage hairstyles that are out, particularly the retro waves from the 1940s,” says celebrity hairstylist Amanda Shackleton. “Wearing your hair down, especially for a long event, won’t have much staying power, resulting in your hair looking flat and messy in a few hours. By taking your hair and pinning it over to one side, it takes the weight out of the style and keeps it protected from going flat.”
For ladies who have fine hair, like the 38-year-old Oscar-winner, stylists believe the side-swept look works especially well, as it adds some much-needed oomph to any mane.

“This particular style gives the appearance of hair being fuller and thicker,” says celebrity hairstylist Chaz Dean.
So how does one create the perfect side-swept, à la Witherspoon? Her stylist, Adir Abergel, told InStyle magazine that you should first create a part at the arch of the brow, which he calls "the most flattering placement for a side part." Then, blow dry with a round brush until waves are smooth, pull hair over one shoulder, and add some finishing spray."
"Mist two bobby pins with spray, then cross them behind the ear," Abergel adds.

PHOTOS: Kate Middleton Debuts Tiny Baby Bump
Giving her usual royal blowout a break, Kate Middleton decided to wear her hair up at a recent event, transforming her tousled tresses into an effortlessly chic ponytail.
As US Weekly reported, the 32-year-old, who is four months pregnant with her second child, debuted her latest sought-after look at the launch of the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH)’s latest appeal in England. To compliment her new ‘do, Middleton opted for a sleek red dress by Katherine Hooker, which fit snugly over her barely-there baby bump.
The publication also stated that Middleton's efforts at EACH will help begin “launching the charity’s new appeal to raise $16 million to build and equip a new children’s hospice in the area.”
Now the hair: Everyone knows how to tie up a simple ponytail, but Grazia Daily points out how Middleton’s approach to this classic style features a modern twist.
“Kate’s ponytail is ever so slightly lower than most, to allow for hair on top of the pony to be oomphed up, to give it more of a ‘done’ feel,” the publication explains. “It’s like a tiny mini beehive going into the ponytail — very chic, and very understated.”

The trick to Middleton’s loose ponytail? The Duchess used both pins and an elastic band that match her hair color, creating more volume, all while keeping the ‘do prim and proper.
“Slightly back brush [hair] at the base and a bit down the shaft,” suggests Hollywood-based stylist Janine Jarman for anyone looking to pull off Kate's look themselves. “Pull the front out a bit as well for a [seemingly] undone pony.”
And finally, no perfect ponytail is complete without having the right hair for it. Check out the video above for creating the royal blowout at home. And below, check out more photos of Middleton rocking her up-do:

To welcome the holiday season, Jessica Simpson opted to brighten her blonde tresses with a champagne hue. Soon afterward on December 2nd, the 34-year-old fashion mogul debuted her white-hot ‘do on Instagram, giving a nod to her hairstylist and friend Rita Hazan.
“Nothing like a Monday bleach by one of my besties @ritahazan,” she captioned the photo, pictured above.
And it's easy to see why Simpson went with her current color, as it nicely complements her shoulder-sweeping lob haircut and sizzling svelte shape.
“Now that she cut her hair, she needed a cool and edgy color,” explains Hazan to US Weekly, who notes that Simpson's dye process took two hours for super shiny results.

“I made it a cool champagne blonde — very light, almost white, but with depth and dimension,” adds Hazan.
If you, too, are thinking about going a lighter shade of blonde, Hazan says the secret to gorgeous results is maintaining the color once the dye process is complete. Touch-ups every six to eight weeks are highly recommended, she says.
Celebrity stylists like Hazan also emphasize how crucial it is to protect your hair before the actual dye job by using a deep conditioning treatment at least three days before bleaching or highlighting, and weekly thereafter. This will give your hair extra smoothness, sealing in moisture and plenty of bounce.
However, this isn’t the first time Simpson has had a major blonde moment. On the red carpet, she’s always flaunting an envious, sought-after mane.
