The Florida Highway Patrol says it has shut down Interstate 95 near Miami after a trooper responding to a car crash believed he saw a grenade at the scene.
All lanes on I-95 have been shut down near the Miami-Dade/Broward County line, due to police activity, WSVN.com reported Friday.
While all activity is occurring only on northbound lanes, officials have shut down the highway in both directions.
Miami-Dade Police are assisting the Florida Highway Patrol in closing off the exit and entrance ramps to the highway in those areas, and in its investigation of the incident.
