A Massachusetts family says they have received a letter from an anonymous scrooge blasting their Christmas decorations because “not everybody in the neighborhood is Christian."

The letter addressed to the Hunter family of Newton, Mass., which was postmarked in Boston and signed “your neighbors,” also called the decorations “cheap, tacky and kitschy.” Whoever wrote the letter urged the family to take their celebration indoors, Fox 25 reports.

Kristen Hunter, who said her family has decorated her home each Christmas for the past 37 years, won’t let the letter ruin her holiday cheer.

“It’s Christmas. You can’t take Christ out of Christmas,” she told Fox 25.

The Hunter's decorations include Santa and baby Jesus in a nativity scene.

According to the station, the letter also asked how the Hunter family would feel if they had to drive by an anti-Christian display.

“If that’s what they want to do that’s fine. People have the right to celebrate,” Hunter said.

Hunter’s neighbors gathered around her home on Saturday night to sing Christmas carols and show their support, according to WHDH.
