Chicago – Police continue to search for the person who shot 13-year-old Rony Monzon six times on the Southwest Side, late Wednesday night.
"It went straight through here," Daneysi Valdovinos said, as she showed FOX Chicago News the bullet holes in the side of her home.
14-year-old Valdovinos said the shooter stood in the gangway just a few feet from where her and her friend were sitting, Wednesday night.
"We just see a guy pop out…shooting at us, like straight at me. But, all of a sudden my friend Rony, he stands up and is like, what's happening? And they shot him six times," Valdovinos added.
They were just sitting outside, enjoying the night, not doing anything wrong and then somebody just came and shot them. I mean…it doesn't make no sense.
Monzon was shot in his chest, arm and hip. He was sent to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition Thursday. He was released from the hospital later that night.
"I went to go see him. And I told him thank you and he started laughing. He was making jokes, he was saying he was the Terminator," Valdovinos said.
The two grew up together inside a two flat home on 47th Place on the southwest side. Valdovino's father, Jesus, was emotional thinking about what happened.
"They were just sitting outside, enjoying the night, not doing anything wrong and then somebody just came and shot them. I mean…it doesn't make no sense," Jesus Valdovinos said.
The Valdovinos family is fearful of being outside their home now.
"We're not over in the street, it's just in front of our house. It's our porch, our property. And now, we just can't sit here no more," Daneysi added.
Friends said Monzon was expected to return home Thursday night.
Police do not have anyone in custody as of Thursday night.
