A 73-year-old New York man was banned from a Long Island mall after he was cited for trespassing when he tried to use a restroom before the mall opened, CBS New York reported.

Anthony Arcese joins a group of senior citizens at the Westfield South Shore Mall to walk laps so they can get a workout in during winter’s coldest days, the report said. It’s a place the group can socialize over coffee after getting in a 3-mile walk.

But after the ban, Arcese will not be able to meet with the group until July 15, according to a letter from the mall’s management.

"I can't go shopping, I can't go to IHOP, I can't go nowhere near the mall," he said, summing up the letter.

The management team did not respond to 1010 WINS for its report. One member of Arcese's group called the ban "ridiculous."

"You think kids get bullied? Well, unbelievable or not, old people get bullied," 68-year-old Marie Mattia said.
