New York police say four people, including two children, walking on a city street have been injured after a car crash.

Police say 18-year-old Stephen Brumaire was behind the wheel of an SUV and ran a red light Monday. They say he struck another sport utility vehicle that hit a fence as a baby sitter pushing a 10-month-old in a stroller walked by. The stroller was struck, but the baby wasn't seriously injured. The sitter, who wasn't struck, was injured but not seriously.

Police say Brumaire's vehicle also struck a mother and her 2-year-old son, also in a stroller. The mother was in critical condition. The child didn't appear to be seriously hurt.

Brumaire was charged with grand larceny. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney who could comment.
