A married couple hoping for a relaxing cruise aboard the Norwegian Jewel claim they were traumatized after finding a crew member having sex with a woman in their room — but Norwegian Cruise Line is now suggesting that the couple's allegations don't hold any water.

Bobby and Mary Jackson, from Scotland, say they boarded the ship for a weeklong trip between Singapore to Thailand in October. But upon getting to their stateroom, they – and the cabin attendant escorting them to the room – were shocked to discover a naked man and a woman making love in their cabin, they claim.

“I was horrified. What I witnessed was extremely unpleasant. There was a man and woman having sex on the bed in our designated room,” said Mary, 62, according to Scotland’s Sunday Post.

Mary said the cabin attendant ran off to inform his supervisors while she and Bobby waited in an adjacent stateroom where Mary’s sister was staying.

“I was traumatized and I needed a glass of water,” she added.

The couple later learned that the ship, which has a capacity for 2,376 passengers, was full. They returned to their room a short while afterward only to find the formerly naked man was still there, and that’s when another employee identified him as a worker.

After the room situation was eventually sorted out, Mary claims she also came down with a stomach bug and spent part of the trip hooked up to an IV.

Norwegian Cruise Line, however, says its own internal investigation – and security cameras – don't "corroborate" their claims.

"The thorough investigation undertaken, including full review of security footage of the corridor where the stateroom was located, does not corroborate the allegation," a spokesperson for Norwegian Cruise Line stated. "Please know that we operate to the very highest standards. Any incidents that may fall below these standards are thoroughly investigated and actioned appropriately."

The Sunday Post had previously reported that Norwegian gave the couple vouchers to put toward another cruise, and contacted Mary and Bobby concerning further compensation.
