Dozens of construction workers have blocked one of the roads leading to the soccer stadium in Gdansk before a European Championship match. They are demanding unpaid wages for their work on the road.

Protesters used trucks and construction equipment to block an access road to the new Arena Gdansk hours before Monday's game between Croatia and Spain. That didn't keep fans from reaching the stadium because other roads lead to it and protesters let public buses through.

The workers say Hydrobudowa Polska SA, a consortium that led construction of the road and other projects connected to Euro 2012, owes subcontractors $14.5 million for work. They shouted, "thieves!" and "Hydrobudowa, give money for the work."

The company recently filed for bankruptcy protection.
