Towson University will try to build off back-to- back CAA Football championships in 2013 during a 12-game schedule announced Saturday.

The Tigers, who will play five home games at Johnny Unitas Stadium, will embark on a 12-game schedule for only the fourth time.

They will play four non-conference games before beginning defense of this year's shared CAA title.

For the fifth time in the last six seasons, Towson will face an FBS opponent in its season opener, traveling to Connecticut for a Thursday night opener on Aug. 29.

The Tigers also will play road games at Holy Cross (Sept. 7) and North Carolina Central (Sept. 21) sandwiched around their home opener against Delaware State (Sept. 14).

Within the CAA, coach Rob Ambrose's squad will play home games against New Hampshire (Oct. 5), Villanova (Oct. 12), Delaware (Nov. 2) and James Madison (Nov. 23).

Towson will play road conference games at CAA newcomers Stony Brook (Sept. 28) and Albany (Oct. 19) as well as Richmond (Oct. 26) and William & Mary (Nov. 16).

Towson had a 7-4 record, including 6-2 in the CAA, this season.
