Tennessee hasn't won a national championship since the 1998 season but that streak has a very good shot to end in 2016 according to the betting experts, as the Volunteers have opened at +1200 to win the College Football Playoff in 2016.

Those odds are courtesy of Bovada, Alabama currently has the best odds at +600, followed by Clemson +700, Michigan +900, Oklahoma +1000 and Ohio State at +1000. Those five teams are the only teams with better odds to win the Playoff than the Volunteers heading into the offseason.

With the addition of renowned defensive coordinator Bob Shoop, the return of Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Cam Sutton, Alvin Kamara, Jalen Hurd, Joshua Dobbs and four starting offensive lineman in addition to a year's worth of additional experience for an overall young roster, momentum is at an all time high for Butch Jones' Tennessee program.

Whether or not the Vols have the sixth best chance at the title or not, one professional bookmaker likes their odds among some of the most successful programs in the nation in recent seasons. That alone should give Tennessee fans hope that the good times have only just begun on Rocky Top.
