NEW YORK (Reuters) - The New Orleans Saints have re-signed veteran running back Deuce McAllister on the eve of their first playoff appearance in three seasons against the Arizona Cardinals, the team said on Friday.

The 31-year-old McAllister, who holds the team record for touchdowns and rushing attempts, was released by the Saints in February after being hampered by injuries.

The Saints, who finished 13-3 in the regular season, host the Cardinals on Saturday in the NFL divisional playoff round. It marks their first playoff game since 2006, when McAllister was part of the team.
