London, England – QPR announced Saturday that it has signed defender Jose Bosingwa on a free transfer.
The 29-year-old, who penned a three-year deal with the London outfit, becomes manager Mark Hughes' eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
"I am delighted to bring a player of his undoubted quality to the club," Hughes told the club's official website. "He has got plenty of pace, great technical ability and all the attributes you need to be a top player.
"His experience is really important to us. He understands the Premier League and he understands what it takes to win games. He has got a winning mentality and that is what I want to have around the place."
Bosingwa did not sign in time to suit up for QPR's opening match of the Premier League season as the Rangers were thrashed by Swansea City in a 5-0 home loss on Saturday.
