Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Curtis Granderson hit the go-ahead two- run home run and Johnny Monell added a two-run double, as the New York Mets topped Philadelphia by a 7-4 score in the rubber match of a three-game series.
Daniel Murphy contributed three hits, while Wilmer Flores and Kirk Nieuwenhuis knocked in a run each for the Mets, winners in four of their last five.
Bartolo Colon (6-1) allowed four runs on eight hits in six-plus innings, striking out six. Four different relievers combined to allow one hit for the remainder, with Jeurys Familia tossing a scoreless ninth to earn his 13th save.
"It's really special because it is Mother's Day," Colon said in mentioning his mother, Adriana, who died last summer. "I just want to dedicate this to all the mothers that are not here and are in a better place. Just happy that it happened today."
Grady Sizemore and Cesar Hernandez each posted two hits and an RBI for the Phillies, losers in four of their last five. Jeff Francoeur drove in a run in defeat.
Chad Billingsley (0-2) lasted five-plus frames, giving up five runs on eight hits. He did hit the first home run for a Phils pitcher in almost three years.
Back-to-back doubles from Flores and Nieuwenhuis to start the sixth made it 4-2 and forced Billingsley's exit. The latter Met stole third and scored when Cameron Rupp's throw sailed over the head of Phils' third baseman Cody Asche into left field.
Sizemore singled, Asche doubled and Hernandez posted a pinch-RBI single to make it 5-3 in the seventh. Francoeur followed with a pinch-sac fly and the hosts were within a run. Alex Torres prevented further damage by getting Ryan Howard to ground out, but not before he loaded the bases by walking Ben Revere and hitting Chase Utley.
Anthony Recker and Ruben Tejada singled with one down in the eighth and a pinch-hitting Monell plated both with a double for a 7-4 Mets lead. Revere then dove to snag a sinking Granderson liner and doubled off Monell to end the frame.
"We lacked shutdown innings today all the way through the game," Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg admitted. "Every time the offense would bounce back and we'd close or threaten, we wouldn't be able to keep numbers off the board."
Familia stranded a runner on second in the ninth, as Nieuwenhuis ended the game with a sliding grab of a Freddy Galvis fly just across the left-field chalk.
Billingsley reached the seats in left with one out in the third, but the Mets countered in the fourth when Lucas Duda doubled and scored on a Flores base hit.
Utley's first double of the season began the fourth, and he came in on a two- out base hit from Sizemore.
Tejada walked to start the fifth and scored on Granderson's long homer to right for a 3-2 New York edge.

New York improved to 28-29 on Mother's Day and beat the Phils on the road for the second consecutive season on this holiday ... Cole Hamels was the last Phils pitcher to hit a home run, doing so on July 21, 2012, against Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants ... Utley's last double occurred on Sept. 27, 2014.
