NEW YORK (Reuters) - John Isner and Sam Querrey will join the doubles team of Bob and Mike Bryan for the United States' Davis Cup first round tie against Serbia on March 5-7, U.S. captain Patrick McEnroe said Wednesday.

Isner will make his Davis Cup debut and Querrey will appear for the second time, for the indoor clash on clay in Belgrade.

Their selections mark the first time since 2000 neither Andy Roddick nor James Blake will be on the U.S. team.

Roddick and Blake made themselves unavailable for Davis Cup this year, though Isner (25th) and Querrey (31st) are higher ranked than Blake (55th).

"We are very excited about John and Sam joining the Bryans to lead our Davis Cup team," McEnroe said in a statement on the U.S. Tennis Association's website (www.usta.com).

"Both guys have really stepped up their games and are more than ready to take on the challenge of going on the road to face Serbia."

The United States and Serbia have never met in the team competition before. The winner will face either Ecuador or Croatia in the quarter-finals on July 9-11.
