Southern Utah's Brad Sorensen, Cal Poly's Asa Jackson, UC Davis' Sean Kelley and North Dakota's Brett Cameron have been honored as the Great West Conference Preseason Players of the Year.

Sorensen, the GWC Offensive Player of the Year, is returning after throwing for a school-record, 3,231 yards and 21 touchdowns last season, and led the Thunderbirds to a league championship.

Jackson, the GWC Defensive Player of the Year, is on the Buch Buchanan Award (sponsored by Fathead.com) watch list and is a tree-time All-GWC first team selection. Jackson compiled 55 tackles and defended nine passes last season at cornerback.

Cameron and Kelley shared preseason honors as the GWC Special Teams Player of the Year.

A punter for the Fighting Sioux, Cameron averaged 39.9 yards on 74 punts as a sophomore, including a season-long 65-yarder against Cal Poly.

Kelley, a three-time all-conference honoree, is a senior kicker who connected on 13 of 17 field goal attempts last season. He also converted on 26 of 27 extra points for a career-high 65 points.
