Former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is all in on Zach Wilson.
Romo gave the Jets rookie QB high praise on Wednesday and predicted the BYU product "is going to turn that franchise around."
He did not stop there.

"It’s rare for me to say someone has the ability to get in the stratosphere of a [Patrick] Mahomes, but I think this kid actually has that ability. So when you have a quarterback like that, I think there’s no telling how good you can be. He can make up for a lot of weaknesses in a lot of areas for a football team," Romo said.
"I think Zach Wilson is going to be in the discussion as one of the top three to five quarterbacks [in the league] very quickly. Within the next couple of years I think you’re going to see him rise. I think he’s unbelievable. His ceiling is so high."
Romo, though, did acknowledge the tough competition in the AFC East, as the Bills and QB Josh Allen have emerged as major playoff contenders.
"I understand they haven’t had the ability and the talent of some of these other teams they’ve gone against, but they’ll make up for a lot of that, and fast. We’ll see how quickly he can do that, because the division is going to get tougher and tougher," Romo said.

Wilson will get his first taste of NFL regular season action when the Jets face the Panthers on Week 1. The 22-year-old showed promise in training camp, showcasing strong decision-making and an ability to read the entire field.
The BYU product shined this preseason — completing 15 of 20 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns in his two appearances against the Giants and Packers.
The Jets are coming off a 2-14 season, and are hoping the Wilson era will lead to a winning culture the team has lacked over the years.
