Fiorentina's 2-2 draw with AC Milan on Sunday proved costly as the Viola lost two key players to injury with Stefan Savic joining Stevan Jovetic on the sidelines.

Savic had to be replaced after 30 minutes because of a thigh injury, while Jovetic got a surprise start in Sunday's game despite being doubtful with a thigh problem of his own.

The gamble didn't pay off, however, as Jovetic needed to be substituted at halftime.

A statement on the club's official website Monday read: "Fiorentina announce that Stefan Savic has suffered flexor muscle damage to his thigh. At the same time Stefan Jovetic has experienced a recurrence of his recent thigh muscle injury. Both players will be subjected to diagnostic tests tomorrow."

Jovetic has tallied 12 goals in 26 Serie A matches this term, while Savic has proven to be a reliable presence in defense since joining from Manchester City last summer having started 22 games in the league.
