MELBOURNE (Reuters) - Juan Martin Del Potro booked his place in the fourth round of the Australian Open with a 6-3 0-6 6-4 7-5 win over Germany's Florian Mayer Friday.

The towering Argentina suffered a lapse in concentration in the second set but regained his composure to finish off his opponent in two and a half hours and avoid a repeat of his epic five-set match with James Blake in the second round.

The U.S. Open champion and world number five plays either Marin Cilic or Stanislas Wawrinki Sunday for a place in the quarter-finals.
