The San Diego Chargers resigned veteran defensive end Luis Castillo to a one-year contract on Wednesday.

Castillo was placed on injured reserve after he injured his tibia in the Chargers' season-opening victory over the Minnesota Vikings last season.

The Northwestern product has recorded 210 tackles, 19 sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles in his seven-year NFL career, all with San Diego, which drafted him in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft.
