TORONTO (Reuters) - The Toronto Blue Jays has agreed terms for a one-year contract for right-handed pitcher Shaun Marcum.

The 28-year-old pitcher, who sat out last season recovering from elbow surgery, agreed to a one-year contract worth $850,000 for the 2010 season, the team said in a statement on Monday.

Marcum could become Toronto's No. 1 pitcher following the December trade of former ace Roy Halladay to the Philadelphia Phillies. He has a 24-17 record with a 3.95 ERA in the major leagues.
