COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland and Michigan State have done quite well this season, considering they have five torn ACLs between them.
The Terrapins and Spartans meet Monday in the second round of the NCAA women's tournament.
Maryland is the No. 4 seed, and Michigan State is No. 5. They might have been Nos. 1 and 2 if all the injured players in street clothes could be in uniform.
The winner advances to the Sweet 16. The loser will get plenty of chances to make amends — because Maryland is leaving the Atlantic Coast Conference after next season to join Michigan State in the Big 10.
