COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) University of Maryland Police say they have charged two football players with shooting three students with a pellet gun.

The department said in a news release that Darryl Turner II of Glenarden and Lorenzo Harrison III of Clinton, who are both 19, were charged with three counts each of assault and reckless endangerment.

The football team announced on Saturday that Turner, a receiver, and Harrison, a running back, were suspended indefinitely for violating the school's student-athlete code of conduct. At that time, the university did not detail reasons for the suspensions.

Campus police say on Nov. 6, three students reported by struck by pellets from a gun.

It could not be immediately determined who Turner and Harrison's lawyers are.
