Today is my 50th birthday. I know, normally folks on TV wouldn't readily admit their age, but since there's nothing you can do about it, you might as well own it and be happy, and boy do i have so much to be grateful for.
First, thanks to a great staff here on “The Real Story”. it was fun to kick back a few with you on that rooftop a few weeks ago. Thanks for your hard work every day.
Now, here’s a breakdown of fifty, letter by letter! Starting with "F" for FAMILY! I am so blessed for my parents, sister, kids, and my husband.
The "I" stands for inspiring. I’ve had many inspiring role models in my life, and I hope I’ve made a few people proud by passing that along.
The second “f” is for friends. After living all over the country, I have friends in many different places. They all know I love to have a good time, so thanks for making me smile.
The "t" is for talent. I believe every child is born with a talent, great or small. It's our job to help them cultivate all of them, and in doing so, we are contributing to something I wholeheartedly believe in; the American dream.
Finally "y" for "yes"! Yes, to 50 more years of family, inspiring, friends, and making the most of our talents. Turns out 50 isn’t so bad!
