Tom Hanks has taken to social media to reunite a college student with her lost ID card.
He posted the message along with a photo of the young woman's identity card issued by Fordham University in New York City.
By Tuesday evening the post had been retweeted thousands of times and favourited more than 10,000 times.
The "Forrest Gump" star drew praise from his followers for the gesture.
"You're just awesome," one person replied to the original tweet.
The two-time Oscar winner was on the receiving end of a similar act of kindness not long ago.
He tweeted in March: "A guy named Tony found my credit card on the street in NYC and returned it! Tony! You make this city even greater! Thanx. HANX."
Hanks stars in the Cold War thriller "Bridge of Spies," which opens Oct. 16.
