Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber said Friday he had "never met" the unemployed California woman who claims he fathered her baby.
Mariah Yeater, 20, said the megastar got her pregnant during a backstage sex session and launched a paternity action that could force Bieber to take a DNA test and pay up to $260,000 in monthly child support.
But the 17-year-old "Baby" singer denied what he called "crazy" allegations in front of hundreds of screaming fans during a live TV interview.
"I'd just like to say, basically, that none of those allegations are true," he told NBC's "Today" show. "I know that I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim."
He added. "It's crazy because every night after the show I'm gone right from the stage right to my car, so it's crazy that some people want to make up such false allegations. To set the record straight, none of it is true."
When asked if he knew Yeater, he replied, "I never met the woman."
Yeater claims in court papers that her rendezvous with Bieber -- which she alleges took place backstage at LA's Staples Center following an October 2010 show -- was "brief, lasting only approximately 30 seconds."
Her son Tristyn Anthony Markhouse Yeater, now four months old, was born on July 6.
Bieber has been ordered to appear in court on Dec. 15 to respond to the allegation.
