With the National Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday, a plethora of events are being offered this weekend in New York City to get folks in the Boricua spirit.
One of them is the National Puerto Rican Parade Musical Festival/Dominoes Tournament happening at Roberto Clemente State Park, in the Bronx.
Another event at the same park is the parade's Juegos Boricuas (Boricua Games)—an event which encourages outdoor activity as well as the importance of exercising and healthy living.
If the Bronx is too much of a commute, the 116th Street Festival will also be in full swing in Spanish Harlem.
The festival celebrates 26 years of Spanish culture in “El Barrio” with Puerto Rican artists such as Tito Puente Jr., performing for the crowd in memory of his father, the late, great, Latin music percussionist Tito Puente.
