Fox411 Playlist: Axl Rose declines Hall of Fame invitation, Green Day releasing music trilogy

Axl Rose said this week he was "honored" and "excited" upon hearing the news that Guns N' Roses would be inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but apparently the "awkward situation" it would create wasn't worth it and he ultimately said "no, thanks" to the honor.

In an open letter, the singer says he will not be attending the ceremony and declined his induction into the prestigious group. Adding to this, the rocker addressed talks of a possible reunion saying, "I've publicly made myself more than clear. Nothing's changed."

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame says they still plan to induct Rose along with the band and points out the only others to have declined the honor was The Sex Pistols.

Another rock band in the news is Green Day, who is in the studio recording a trilogy of albums called "¡Uno!" "¡Dos!" and "¡Tré!"

According to a press release, the albums are set to be released between September 2012 and January 2013. In a statement the band says, "We are at the most prolific and creative time in our lives.  This is the best music we've ever written, and the songs just keep coming,"

Also releasing new work is Nicki Minaj who recently lit up Times Square with a performance to help Nokia launch it's new smartphone.

Fox411 caught up with the singer to get the dirt on "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded." Of the nineteen tracks "the first half is nothing but rap, then there's like 5 dance records," she continues, "then some ballads toward the end."
