A New York City mother says her 19-year-old daughter and her 18-year-old cousin were shot and killed while visiting family in Jamaica.

Suzette Clarke-Grose tells WABC-TV Thursday that she learned after a phone call from relatives that the bodies of her daughter, Franciena Johnson, and Johnson's cousin, Nadia Fearon, were found floating in a salt marsh in May Pen, the capital of Clarendon parish in the southern part of the Caribbean island.

Clarke-Grose says they were discovered Dec. 20. Police spokesmen there couldn't be contacted Thursday night.

Clarke-Grose says police believe the two were kidnapped. She says relatives had reported them missing.

Fearon lived in Jamaica. Clarke-Grose says her daughter was born on the island but moved to Brooklyn as a child and was studying to be a nurse.
