A man has been arrested in London after a woman was found beheaded in a garden near a home.

There is no suggestion at this time that the killing had any terrorist motive, Detective Chief Inspector John Sandlin told Fox News.

London Metro Police said they were called to the scene Thursday to respond to “reports of a man armed with a knife.”

Authorities said upon arrival to the home, they discovered a woman collapsed in a garden area. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers arrested a 25-year-old man near the scene of the incident on suspicion of murder. One officer was injured during the course of the arrest, police told Fox News.

"This is was a highly visible attack in broad daylight on a residential street,” said Sandlin, who is leading the investigation. “I can understand why this may cause people concern, however we are confident that we are not looking for anyone else at this stage.”

The names of the man and the victim have not been released and authorities have not disclosed which weapon was used in the attack.
