A witness to the fatal shooting of a Memphis police officer says he saw the suspect and the policeman tussling as the pair walked to a squad car, then heard six shots being fired.

Marquis Wright testified Friday at a preliminary hearing for 29-year-old Tremaine Wilbourn. Wilbourn is being held on a murder charge in the Aug. 1 death of 33-year-old Officer Sean Bolton.

Wright said he was standing outside a house when he saw an officer drive up to a burgundy Mercedes Benz that was parked on the street. Wright says the driver of the car ran away but the passenger, whom he identified as Wilbourn, was pulled out of the car by Bolton and led toward the squad car by the officer.
