Prosecutor Kym Worthy says accusations against those charged in the abduction and killing of a 13-year-old Detroit boy have "shocked" authorities.
Gregory Walker is accused of choking Deontae Mitchell with help from Lillian Roberts and Earnest Coleman. All face charges of murder, unlawful imprisonment, kidnapping, torture and gun crimes. Coleman was charged with kidnapping last weekend.
A cousin told police Deontae picked up some money dropped by a man outside of a market on May 31. Surveillance video shows Deontae being pursued by a man, who grabbed his arm and forced him into a car.
Worthy said Thursday there's "no excuse" for what happened to Deontae and he's a "victim" regardless of circumstances.
Deontae's body was found a week ago in a vacant lot. A cause of death is being investigated.
