Slain runner to be laid to rest in Massachusetts

Family and friends will say their final goodbyes to a New York City woman who was killed while out for a run near her mother's home in Massachusetts.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday for 27-year-old Vanessa Marcotte. Her body was found on Aug. 7 in some woods near her mother's home in the town of Princeton.

State police say they've received more than 600 tips, but no arrests have been made in her death.

Marcotte grew up in Leominster (LEH'-mihn-stur), graduated from Boston University and worked as account manager at Google in New York City.

After the Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic in Leominster, Marcotte will be buried at Woodside Cemetery in Westminster.
