Authorities will not release the results of an autopsy of a malnourished, dehydrated and physically abused 5-year-old Michigan girl while the investigation into her death continues.

The Times Herald of Port Huron reports Thursday that the autopsy report has been completed, but that Public Safety Chief Michael Reaves says it must be reviewed by prosecutors. Medical examiners are awaiting lab test results.

Police found the girl unresponsive Tuesday night. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Authorities removed another severely malnourished child and two other apparently healthy children from the southeastern Michigan home where she was found.

Reaves has said the girl's death is being investigated as a homicide. Her father and stepmother have been arrested.

Port Huron is about 55 miles northeast of Detroit.
