An attempted-murder warrant has been issued for a 29-year-old Mississippi man following what police are calling a road-rage shooting on an interstate highway.

News media outlets say Pearl Police Capt. Brian McGairty has identified the man as Brett Davis of Picayune.

Rankin County Undersheriff Raymond Duke says the driver of a separate car was struck by a bullet above the eye Wednesday night, but was able to give information to authorities. He is in stable condition. Duke did not identify the driver.

Police issued an alert for a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado occupied by two white males. The vehicle was described as metallic gold in color with Pearl River County license plate number PU2 743.

McGairty said the men are considered armed and dangerous.
