Millionaire real estate heir Robert Durst is returning to court and, for the first time, will face a judge rather than a magistrate.

He will be arraigned Thursday on charges accusing him of possessing a firearm after a felony conviction and possessing both the .38-caliber revolver and an illegal drug — 5 ounces of marijuana.

After Wednesday's indictment, Judge Franz Zibilich took over the case.

Durst is an estranged member of the family that runs 1 World Trade Center in New York. He's charged in Los Angeles with murder in the death of a longtime friend in 2000.

His lawyers have said repeatedly that he just wants to go to California to deal with those charges.
